Five Things I Need to Accomplish Before the Holidays Take Over My Life

Can you believe Thanksgiving is a little over a week away?  Where does the time go?? It's pretty much official once next week hits, the holidays are going to take over my life. That's fine, except I have a list of things I want to accomplish before the holidays that I've been procrastinating on.  It's crunch time!

While I love the holidays and this time of the year, it drives me nuts how busy my life becomes, how centered it is on Thanksgiving and Christmas. There's always so much to do that I get behind on the other day to day stuff. Some of it is definitely me putting it off and some of it has to do with the fact that there just isn't enough hours in the day to get everything done.

I've prioritized a bit and come up with the five most important things I've got to get done before all the craziness begins!

Clean Out My Car

My car is pretty dirty. It could use a good vacuum and dusting due to my love for driving with the windows down and the radio up. Yes, I could have taken care of this on any one of the beautiful fall days we've had lately, but who wants to clean when you can have fun? My punishment will be doing it out in the cold now!

Kaycee Needs a Bath

This dog needs a bath like you would not believe. Don't let that adorable face deceive you, she has been out duck/goose hunting all fall and she smells like slough. It's gross, no amount of 'doggy perfume' masks it and I'm not going to smell that all winter long! This is definitely a top priority!

Organize My Closet

My closet doesn't look as bad as the one pictured but it definitely needs a makeover. For the most part, I'm pretty clean, it's just not very organized. If I can get this in working order, I'm going to give myself a huge pat on the back!

Prepare for Holiday Shopping

Again, this is an organizational thing. I want to sit down and figure out what I'm getting for people and then just go out and it. I don't like shopping last minute, so I figure if I can get the list put together that will give me all kinds of extra time to take care of the shopping part!

Find Some Awesome Christmas Cookie Recipes

My grandmas used to make some sweet Christmas cookies. We had some of the recipes but we lost them when our house burned down this past February. Now I'm on the prowl for some recipes so I can make some delicious cookies for the holidays. If you have any good recipes you want to share, I'm all ears!
