Five Reasons I Have a Love/Hate Relationship With Black Friday Shopping

Thanksgiving is about two and a half weeks away which means it's time to be thinking about and planning for the biggest shopping day of the year!  As much as I love shopping, I have a love/hate relationship with Black Friday shopping!

Black Friday will be here before you know it and my excitement and dread are about equal.  There's a part of me that can't wait for the deals but another part that's all like 'stay home on Black Friday.  The stress isn't worth it!'

That said here's the breakdown of my love/hate relationship with Black Friday Shopping.

Love - Bargains

I love that you can score some great deals on Black Friday. You can seriously save some big money. On top of that, it's your chance to save on the season's hottest items. Unless you want to grab them after the holidays when they're like 95% off!

Hate - Massive Crowds

OMG...I despise huge crowds when people are rushing at things. People can be so rude and for what? A huge TV that by the time you get it home, it's already outdated. I also don't have a lot of patience for long lines, ask my mom. I made her buy a watch one Black Friday so we could pay in the jewelry department where there was no line. That's thinking!

Love - The Tradition

I've gone out shopping on Black Friday since I was in diapers. Okay, I don't know that for sure but it's something I've done with my mom, my sister and other family members for a long time. I can't explain it any better than to say it's tradition and I don't like the idea of breaking tradition, at least not in this situation.

Hate - Limited Number of Items

Ugh, it drives me nuts that on some items they only have a few. Seriously?? If you want me to come rushing in to your store in the wee hours of the morning to grab a hot ticket item, you really need to have more than two. It doesn't do much for customer loyalty, just sayin'.

Love - Christmas Spirit

For all the stress and craziness, Black Friday shopping puts me in the Christmas spirit. Okay, while I'm battling the crowds I might be more like a Grinch but when it's done, I'm ready for Christmas. I want to decorate, bake and wrap presents. I'm in total holiday mode!

So there's my love/hate relationship in a nutshell. Am I going on shopping on Black Friday? Yes! Am I going to be a little crabby? Most likely but it's going to be a blast!
