The danger of wildfire across Minnesota is listed as 'Extreme' to 'Very High' across most of the state according to the Minnesota Fire Marshall. Burning is prohibited across the central part of the state, and we are all being asked to help prevent a wildfire from starting. Here are some things to think about:

  • No open burning unless it is allowed in your area.
  • Never discard cigarettes out a vehicle window.
  • If burning is allowed, always have a hose ready or multiple buckets of water.
  • Never leave a fire unattended.
