ST. CLOUD - The lawyer for the family of the mall stabbing suspect spoke to the media this (Monday) evening. Abdulwahid Osman says the family is devastated by the incomprehensible tragic event of last Saturday.

We express our deepest sympathy and condolences to all those injured and other who were impacted as a result of the incident at the Crossroads Mall.

The family says, as they mourn the death of their son Dahir Adan, they are committed to fully cooperating, within the limits of the law, with law enforcement agencies.

We urge all not to rush to judgement or conclusions. We ask everyone to respect our privacy during this difficult time.

The family says they love St. Cloud and this state and they are an integral part of the fabric of the society.

A community activist says Adan had gone to the mall to pick up a pre-ordered iPhone.

Haji Yusuf, community director for the social tolerance group UniteCloud, has been working with the family of 20-year-old Dahir Adan.
