The Minnesota Wild (19-8-4) extended their winning streak to eight games by defeating the visiting Colorado Avalanche (11-19-1) 2-0 last night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Wild now embark on a three-game road trip before returning home on December 29th.

The Wild remain six points behind Chicago in second place in the Central Division, but have played four fewer games than the Blackhawks. In fact, only the Columbus Blue Jackets have as many points as the Wild having played as few games.

Minnesota kicks off it's road trip tomorrow night in Montreal, followed by games Friday at the Rangers, and next Tuesday in Nashville.
