A Hermantown police deputy clocked a man driving a 2016 Chevy Camaro doing 171 mph this past Friday night on Highway 61 near Two Harbors. The deputy was part of a Minnesota Highway Patrol DWI safety campaign when the driver flew by.

The Hermantown officer said he had his squad car up to 135 mph in the pursuit -- to get just close enough for the Camaro driver to see his flashing lights and pull over.

The driver was ticketed for careless driving -- although Minnesota law apparently calls for a license to be revoked when a car is found to be going over 100 mph.
