I'm Katie, the quirky midday host on 98 Country. I am one of those people that will never truly decide what I want to do in life...maybe I will just try a little bit of everything. After getting bored with my finance degree from St. Cloud State, I decided to go back for radio. I love country music but I can't sing to save my life...trust me. So, I decided on radio and here I am. I have spent the better part of my life in Central Minnesota and I absolutely love it here
It's been about 2 years since I've been back in Minnesota, and aside from questioning my decision a few times during the coldest of winter days, I'm happy to be home! My goal this summer is to discover (or rediscover) some of the places in Minnesota I missed as a kid, or those I haven't been to in many years. I have my map in hand, and I'm ready to go. If you have suggestions, feel free to pass them along.
I'm just a regular Minnesota guy that grew up on the north-side of the Cities (Fridley), spent some quality time at the U of M, chill on the weekends at the family cabin near Duluth, bleed Vikings purple, and miss the North Stars. I have a short attention span; and enjoy Pink Floyd, Johnny Cash, Zac Brown, 80s hair bands, coffee, beer, scotch, and long sunset walks on the beach. (One of those isn't true.) I'm a two-time cancer survivor now (Colorectal 2002, Kidney 2014), and know that life is damn short -- so by all means we should be playing as hard and as often as we can
Sam Alex has always been a big fan of country music -- he's worked for country stations across the nation and never misses his favorite acts when they come to town. He's been on red carpets for many different awards shows and interviewed some of your favorite celebrities, like Will Ferrell and Taylor Swift. Originally from the Chicago area, Sam now lives in Nashville, where he hosts the Taste of Country Nights radio show. If you ever see him on lower Broadway, get him a pina colada and some BBQ chicken pizza
I’m 24 years young and the oldest of five kids in my family. I went to Apollo High School and graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in broadcast journalism. When I told my parents that I wanted to be in radio, I don’t think they were surprised. My mom swears that I started talking when I was six months old and never stopped (sure I did mom). I love everything about media. For that reason, I went to school for TV journalism, worked as a news reporter for a few years and hosted weekend shows on two of our sister stations
