Kip Moore, Chris Young + More Join Dierks Bentley for 2014 Miles & Music Event
Strap on your helmets and put on your dancing shoes! Dierks Bentley‘s ninth annual Miles & Music for Kids is going to be filled with roaring motorcycles and popular country stars like Kip Moore, Chris Young. And by the time it takes place, Nashville’s neighborhood lawns could be taken over by orange ‘Riser’ birds, which are helping spread word about the event.
That’s right. The same bird symbol that Bentley’s album ‘Riser’ made popular is being turned into a ‘Riser Bird Movement,’ with the winsome orange fowl popping up on lawns all over Music City. As word spreads, the Miles & Music for Kids event will gain even more momentum.
“The Riser bird symbol we’ve been using to represent this album has really come to mean something to my fans,” Bentley explains. “I’ve been hearing stories about it on the road, people are getting tattoos of it. It’s a symbol of strength and resilience, and I think it’s perfect to extend into what we do for Miles & Music, especially when we are talking about the history of the event, the bikers and fans who come out every year to support it and most importantly, the children and their families being treated at Vandy.”
“The Riser Bird Movement that started this week is a cool way to get the community involved in a deeper way and earlier this year … it’s been fun to see it start to spread across town,” he adds.
The Arizona native’s name is synonymous with the celebrity motorcycle ride that takes place before an all-star concert, all to benefit the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. In addition to Moore and Young, Randy Houser and Jon Pardi have been tapped to take part in Bentley’s event, which has raised over $2.5 million to date for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across the country.
The 2014 Miles & Music event on Sept. 28 will once again begin at the Harley Davidson of Columbia in Tennessee for an hour-long ride that ends downtown at Nashville’s Riverfront Park. Once the ride hits the park, Bentley and his country friends will hit the stage for an exciting lineup with more names still to come.
Tickets go on sale Friday (July 11) at 11AM ET. Fans can purchase a combo ticket for the ride and concert for $50 or individual concert tickets for $30 here. Special VIP packages and student tickets are also available. Nashville fans can get in on the ‘Riser Bird Movement’ fun and ‘Flock It Forward’ by sending Riser Birds to their friends — more information here.
