Three times as many people voted for New Artist of the Year than any other 2014 Taste of Country Awards category, and until the final days, the competition was very tight. Danielle Bradbery pulled away late however, giving her a New Artist of the Year win.

The honor will sit next to the Hottest Country Star win she scored in a bracket-style contest in 2013.

'The Heart of Dixie' singer took 40 percent of the total votes in this category. It was essentially a three-team race after the first few days of competition, with Cassadee Pope and Florida Georgia Line fans battling hard for their artists. After several lead changes, Pope finished second with 27 percent of the vote, followed by FGL at 22 percent. Parmalee was fourth with nearly six percent. Thomas Rhett, Tyler Farr, Kacey Musgraves and Jana Kramer rounded out the category.

This is Bradbery's first Taste of Country Awards win. Last year, the honor went to Casey James.
