Ricky Van Shelton is currently a retired country music artist.  His a no nonsense approach to country music that has garnered him a steadfast fan base. He was actively making new music between 1986-2006.  He has 10 number one hits.  He was one of country musics biggest male stars during the late 80's and early 90's, prior to the emergence of crossover sensations like Garth Brooks.  Van Shelton's smooth baritone voice made him popular as a country-pop ballad singer.
