Each Wednesday at 8 a.m.  I join Cindy and Doug for Country Classic Flashback.  We take a trip down memory lane to highlight a country legend, in this case two legends Shelly West and David Frizzell.

Shelly is the daughter of the late legendary country artist Dottie West.  She got her start at age 17 touring with her mother's show.  Shelly fell in love with her mother's lead guitarist, Allen Frizzell.  They married and then joined David Frizzell's band.

David Frizzell is the younger brother of another country legend .  When David started out he was a rock-and-roller.  Shelly was trying to get her solo career going and she did with a number one hit, Jose Cuervo, in 1983.  It wasn't until You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma was featured in the movie 'Any Which Way You Can' that David's career took off in country music.  Shelly and David continued to record duets including A Texas State of Mind, I Just Came Here to Dance and Another Honky-Tonk Night on Broadway.

Tune in Every Wednesday at 8 a.m. for the Country Classic Flashback.  It's brought to you by Midwest Machinery on East Highway 23 in Sauk Rapids with eight other locations around Central MN.
