I guess on the surface I'm a little superstitious, but for the love of the game -- I think I'm about to ban myself from being a Minnesota sports fan; because I'm starting to feel like I have a bad influence on our teams. (I'm not sure I can actually do it because these teams are in my blood.)

Here are Some Examples of Why I'm Fearful

#1 - My coworkers won't even let me talk about the good things happening to our teams (when good things actually happen), because they all know that if I do -- they'll get clobbered the next time out. Happens almost without fail.

#2 - Over the course of more than a year and a half in 2016 & 2017 I attended multiple games of the Vikings, Twins, Wild, Timberwolves, Gopher Football & Basketball, SCSU Hockey & Football -- and in all of those games the Minnesota teams collectively went 0-17.

#3 - Yesterday morning the Twins were in first place. I mentioned it in a post on this very site, and in the next two games (yesterday & this afternoon) -- the Boston Red Sox combined for 28 runs. (That's not a typo, 28 runs in 2 games).

#4 - Just this past New Years Eve (my birthday), the Minnesota Wild were on a 12-game winning streak. I went, they lost. Part of my personal losing streak I mentioned in point #2.

Is it bad Minnesota sports teams (probably has something to do with it), but even when teams are doing well, I can take 'em down. I'm expecting a call from Zimmer or Molitor any day now.

I think I had better juju when I was younger. I was at games 6 & 7 of the 1987 World Series at the Metrodome. I guess if we're going to blame me for all this recent stuff, that means I'm the reason the Twins won it all back then. :)
