Cole Swindell Marks Another Milestone With ‘Middle of a Memory’
Cole Swindell reached another major milestone in his career when his recent No. 1, "Middle of a Memory," was certified Gold.
The country star got a big surprise Saturday night (Jan. 21) with the news that his latest single, "Middle of a Memory," has been RIAA Gold-certified, selling more than 500,000 copies. But this is just one of many major accomplishments for the singer.
"Middle of a Memory" serves as his sixth consecutive No. 1 single, meaning that every single he's released since 2013 has reached the top of the country charts. Each single has also achieved either Gold or Platinum status. His current album, You Should Be Here, which features his latest No. 1, debuted at No. 6 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart after its 2016 release, in addition to reaching the No. 2 spot on the Top Country Albums chart.
Swindell was informed of the big news just moments before taking the stage to a sold-out crowd at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Dierks Bentley's What the Hell Tour when the singer's team surprised him with a plaque commemorating the milestone. He is currently serving as an opening act on Bentley's tour along with "Dirt on My Boots" singer Jon Pardi. Swindell will be on the road with Bentley and Pardi for much of 2017.
The young singer has already garnered four Platinum-selling singles, including "Hope You Get Lonely Tonight" and "Chillin' It," and he has raked in two Gold-certified songs with "Middle of a Memory" and "Let Me See Ya Girl." "Flatliner," his collaboration with tour mate Bentley, hit country radio on Monday (Jan.23) and serves as the third single off of You Should Be Here.
