Cole Swindell has achieved his fifth consecutive No. 1 single with his latest release, "You Should Be Here," topping the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart this week. The song marks his eighth career No. 1 overall, and the artist found out he’d reached the top slot while backstage at the Opry on March 26.

“Finding out that you have the No. 1 song in the country while backstage at the Grand Ole Opry is the coolest feeling in the world,” Swindell tells Billboard. “This song is so special to me, and just hearing fans’ stories and the way country radio has embraced it is amazing. I’m a lucky guy and I know my Dad is smiling down right now, so proud.”

Co-written by Swindell and Ashley Gorley, the song was colored by the passing of Swindell's father in 2013, though the title originated from a line Gorley noted to his daughter while watching a huge stadium show with Bryan and Swindell. The track name then also became the title of Swindell’s sophomore You Should Be Here record, due out May 6.

Leading up to the release of the new album, Swindell has partnered with USO for its 75th anniversary by offering fans the chance to gift a digital copy of the record to active service members by pre-ordering the album on Swindell’s site. In addition, $1 from every purchase will be donated to the USO.

Swindell is slated to present at the 2016 ACM Awards on April 3 and has also been tapped to perform at Nashville’s CMA Fest this summer. He’s headlining several dates in April and continuing on tour throughout the summer at various festivals.
