Cold Spring Reveals Tom Decker Memorial Garden [PHOTOS]

COLD SPRING -- It's been four-years since officer Tom Decker was shot and killed in the line of duty and now the community of Cold Spring is honoring his memory.

After months of deliberation and planning the city hosted a ceremony, Tuesday to reveal the Tom Decker Memorial Garden. The ceremony featured speeches by Mayor Fran Ramler, acting Police Chief Jason Blum and Joseph Decker, Tom Decker's brother.

Each person spoke highly of Decker praising him as a loving husband and father as well as being dedicated to the safety and the well-being of the Cold Spring community.

Joseph Decker says the community is staying strong despite the tragedy.

"It's a tragic thing that had happened in Cold Spring. It scared a lot of people. It's nice that as a community we are all getting together and standing strong even though this incident had happened."

For many in the community the grieving process continues. Joseph says he takes life without his brother one day at a time.

"You get through each day, that's basically all I can I do. I still look for him today, thinking I'm going to see him, he's going to stop over, it doesn't go away."

The memorial garden is in front of City Hall, it features a granite monument with an engraved picture of Decker and a Tommy Decker Tribute Bike, a mini motorcycle that is on display.

Officer Tom Decker was shot and killed in Cold Spring in 2012, his murder remains unsolved.
