Major Announcement!

Posted by Chris Young on Sunday, August 9, 2015

Fans have been eagerly awaiting any news from Chris Young about an upcoming record since the release of A.M. back in 2013, and he's finally sharing details. The singer utilized the new live stream feature on Facebook on Sunday to announce to fans in real time that he will be releasing a new album later this year titled I’m Coming Over, matching the lead-off single.

He also treated fans to a look at the cover art for the album.

“I wanna show you guys somethin’,” Young said with a knowing smile, turning the camera around to reveal the surprise. “This right here is my new album cover and my new album title. So this is what will be coming out later on this year, and I wanted you guys to get a chance to see it first before anybody else did."

The first single from the record, released in May, is a Top 10 hit for the singer-songwriter, and fans clearly want more, as Young said he had about 18,500 viewers tuning in live to the live feed. He started with a Q&A, answering questions from fans who were commenting on the video as it aired, and wrapped up with the announcement.

"I’m really, really looking forward to you guys having this on your phone, on your computer, being able to play it and listen to it,” Young added before signing off.

Young has said the new album will feature a duet with Cassadee Pope, as well as a guest appearance on a track from the legendary Vince Gill. The entire album has his personal stamp on it, he says.

“I think it’s been one of my favorite things about making this record, is just being so hands-on and being there for every single thing that went down, from the very start of it all the way down to making mix notes,” he tells the Boot.

Along with the new record, Young has announced a new fall tour, which will start in Savannah, Ga., on Oct. 22 and run through early December. Breakout artists Eric Paslay and Clare Dunn will join him as the openers.
