A Carrie Underwood fan in Canada was hospitalized because he sang too much, too hard. The Storyteller Tour stopped at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa on May 27. A short time later “Bernard” was hospitalized.

The 22-year-old fan met Underwood before the show, and tweeted about several of his favorite moments from the set. He’s obviously a big, big fan, and the singer personally reached out after hearing of his medical emergency. “What the what?!” she tweeted. I hope you’re alright! It was great to get to see you! Thanks for risking your life to be there!” The fan also clarified that his lung had collapsed.

Bernard responded that he would do it all over again. Underwood’s fans were equal parts sympathetic and jealous of his attention from the superstar.

“Thanks everyone!” he tweeted. “It’s sad, but funny at the same time. I would do it all over again to be honest. #SlayMeCarrie”

The spring leg of the Storyteller Tour wrapped on May 30 in London, Ont. Canada. She played to over 600,000 fans since January and has plans to hit the road again in the fall, bringing Easton Corbin and the Swon Brothers with her. At the final show in London, the Swons surprised her with flowers to show how much they appreciate her including them.
