ST. CLOUD - Police say roads near a fire in east St.  Cloud have re-opened to traffic.  Sergeant Mike Koeniguer says they removed the barricades around 8:30 p.m.

St. Cloud Fire crews started  battling the  fire in east St. Cloud at about 6:05 p.m. this evening.

Flames and thick plumes of black smoke could be seen from what appears to be metal yard at Northern Metal Recycling at East St. Germain Street and Lincoln Avenue.

Eyewitnesses report charred flakes falling from the sky in that area and popping noises could be heard.

Sergeant Koeniguer says the police and fire officials are still working to determine the cause of the fire.

No injuries are being reported to either the fire crews or police officials on the scene.

More information is expected to be available on Wednesday morning.
