Blake Shelton didn't just get lucky and become a country music star, he worked hard to be successful and it looks like he had a pretty good role model to follow... his mom.

Blake's mom, Dorothy Shackleford, is ready to release her first book ‘A Time For Me to Come Home’ and Blake nabbed the first copy.

The book Dorothy will release next Tuesday, October 29, is a story about a country singer who returns home to Oklahoma for the holidays after a sold out show at Madison Square Gardens. If that rings a bell in your head, that's because her star son, Blake did just that. The main character in the new book is named Heath Sawyer, but the book is filled with funny stories inspired by real holiday memories of Blake and his mom.
Besides getting ready for her book to hit shelves next week, Dorothy has written dozens of songs over the years, including the duet she sings with Blake on his Christmas Album, "Cheers, It's Christmas".

Watch Blake and his mom, Dorothy perform together below and check out her new book next week... it’ll be available Tuesday October 29th. You can buy it online at Amazon or any book store.
