ST. CLOUD — World-renowned monster truck Bigfoot crushed some cars and entertained fans of all ages at Royal Tire in St. Cloud.
“I’m looking forward to seeing some cars get crushed,” says Brad Burley, of Royal Tire in St. Cloud. “It’s a way to promote our business and, in a sense, it’s a free service we’re doing for the community and it feels good to see a lot of people here enjoying themselves.”
Over 100 people came out to see the monster truck mayhem and each kid in attendance received a toy replica of Bigfoot.
“The reaction that the kids have seeing the truck [and getting the toy], that’s been my highlight — seeing how much enjoyment the kids are getting out of this,” Burley says.
Darron Schnell says he grew up idolizing the 13,000-pound Bigfoot and its drivers and now he’s the one behind the wheel.
“It’s a bit of a violent ride occasionally,” Schnell says. “But for the most part, it’s just pure fun — it’s like being on the coolest ride at the fair and you’re driving.”
Schnell has traveled with Bigfoot all over the globe and says one thing never gets old.
“The kids — when the kids light up [when they see the truck] — that’s what makes my day,” Schnell says. “Driving the truck kind of gets routine, but [meeting] the kids and the people never gets old.”
Bigfoot isn’t the only attraction at Royal Tire this weekend, as an Indy 500 racer and simulator will be open to the public tomorrow (Saturday).
