I keep hearing all this negativity about being left handed -- I mean you'd think us lefties were aliens, sheesh.  Sure, there are some definite disadvantages to not being right handed but we've got more going for us than you might think.  Allow me to explain.

I understand that most things are manufactured for righties and I'm not heartbroken over the fact that it would be extremely difficult for me to drive a stick shift.  I don't care that ink smears when I write.  Those are all petty things.

It's believed that lefties are more creative.  If you look back, there have been several great left handed folks.  Examples include Benjamin Franklin, Henry Ford, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Renoir.  Several of our leaders have been lefties too.

I am a left handed person but I do most things with my right hand.  I just prefer to side with lefties because they're more unique, as in they only make up about 10% of the population.

My friend, Jen, said it best: If the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left handed people are in their right mind.

Honestly, everyone has their own unique talents, strength and weaknesses.  I don't believe that being able to do certain things is attributed to handedness.  Lefties just get picked on and I figured I would try to set the record straight.
