A golden retriever mix, named Leo, was off-leach while on a walk and was attacked on a popular Duluth trail near Lake Superior Tuesday. Leo died as a result of the attack.
The Minnesota DNR reports that because of a less bountiful deer population, so wolves are more likely to wander into urban populations in search for food.
As a dog owner, this scares the daylights out of me. Even on our walks in county and state parks, I'm constantly worried about wild animal encounters.
