I'm just a regular Minnesota guy that grew up on the north-side of the Cities (Fridley), spent some quality time at the U of M, chill on the weekends at the family cabin near Duluth, bleed Vikings purple, and miss the North Stars. I have a short attention span; and enjoy Eric Church, Johnny Cash, Zac Brown, Kid Rock, Pink Floyd, 80s hair bands, coffee, beer, scotch, and long sunset walks on the beach. (One of those isn't true.) I'm a two-time cancer survivor now (Colorectal 2002, Kidney 2014), and know that life is damn short -- so by all means we should be playing as hard and as often as we can. I think that's it. (Did I mention that I have a short attention span?)

Ok, first things first: Minnesota has an official 'Summer Glory Index' to measure the awesomeness of summer weather in the state? Only in a land that experiences -40 degree temps, and -80 degree wind chills would this be a real thing. (But, this has been a nice summer.)
St. John’s Drops Record 98 Points on St. Scholastica
The #10 SJU Johnnies (1-0) set a new national Division III record this afternoon, routing St. Scholastica 98-0 at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville. The previous record was held by Concordia-Moorhead, who beat Macalester 97-6 in 1977.
2017 State Fair Down to Final Two Days
The 2017 edition of the Minnesota State Fair is down to it's final two days -- and if weather has anything to do with it, they're both going to be busy. The fair forecast is calling for sunshine & 87 on Sunday, and sunshine & 72 on Monday.
Vikings Make Final Cuts, Announce 53-Man Roster
The Minnesota Vikings made their final cuts today to reach the NFL required 53-man roster by this afternoon's official deadline. Those waived or cut by the team include ex-Gopher QB Mitch Leidner and offensive lineman Alex Boone.
Johnnies Open at Home Today Against St. Scholastica
The 2017 St. John's University football season opens today in Collegeville against visiting St. Scholastica at Clemens Stadium. The Johnnies start the season ranked #10 in Division III. The kickoff is set for 1 pm.
