Twins Acquire Kevin Jepsen From Rays
The Twins have acquired right-handed relief pitcher Kevin Jepsen from the Tampa Bay Rays for 2 minor league pitchers in a trade deadline deal. The 31-year old Jepsen has a 2-5 record with a 2.81 ERA in 41 2/3 innings with 34 strikeouts.
Six Rox Players Named to Participate in The Northwoods League Dream Showcase
Six players from the St. Cloud Rox were selected to participate in the 2015 Northwoods League Major league Dream Showcase that will be hosted by the Madison Mallards at Warner Park on Tuesday, August 4th.
Gopher Football Picked 3rd in Big Ten West Division
The Gopher football team is picked 3rd in the Big Ten West Division preseason media poll. Wisconsin is picked to win the West Division with Nebraska 2nd. Wisconsin was picked to win the Division on 32 of 40 first place ballots,
Vikings Re-Work Adrian Peterson’s Contract
The Vikings re-worked running back Adrian Peterson's remaining 3 years on his contract to add guaranteed money. ESPN is reporting the deal will almost insure that Peterson will stay in Minnesota.
Twins Continue Road Trip in Anaheim
The Twins open a 3-game series in Anaheim against the Angels tonight at 9:05, pregame on WJON at 8:30. The Twins are 5 1/2 games back of Kansas City for first place in the American League Central. Minnesota is 50-42.
American Legion Baseball Results; Sauk Rapids Wins Big
Sauk Rapids defeated the St. Cloud 76ers 18-3 Monday night in the St. Cloud Sub-District Playoffs. Sauk Rapids scored 12 runs in the 6th inning to put the game out of reach.
Dozier and Perkins Represent the Twins in The All Star Game
The Twins will be represented by 2nd baseman Brian Dozier and left handed relief pitcher Glen Perkins at the Major League Baseball All Star game tonight in Cincinnati. Dozier is making his first All Star appearance while Perkins will be appearing in his 3rd All Star game.
Timberwolves Sign Towns and Jones; Agree to Sign Garnett
The Timberwolves have come to an agreement to sign 6'11 forward Kevin Garnett to a 2-year contract. The 39-year old is expected to play approximately 20 minutes per game next season. Garnett is expected to sign the deal later this week.
Rox Down Waterloo 6-2
The St. Cloud Rox downed the Waterloo Bucks 6-2 Wednesday night to start the 2nd half of the Northwoods League season. St. Cloud scored 5 runs in the 3rd inning and added 1 run in the 7th.
Wild Re-Sign Granlund and Prosser
The Minnesota Wild have re-signed top center Mikael Granlund to a 2-year contract worth $6 million. He'll receive $2.8 Million the first year and $3.2 Million in 2016-2017. Grandlund had 39 points this past season with 8 goals and 31 assists for the Wild.

The Minnesota Wild road tour stopped in St. Cloud today at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. Wild forwards Charlie Coyle and Jason Zucker were joined by Wild TV Analyst Mike Greenlay.
Vikings Release Taylor Mays; Mini-Camp Starts
The Vikings released veteran safety Taylor Mays today. Mays signed with the Vikings this offseason. He played with the Cincinnati Bengals when head coach Mike Zimmer was in Cincinnati as Defensive Coordinator.
