I was reading an article about the most common nicknames people give their babies before they're born and it got me thinking about nicknames in general.  I had some interesting ones growing up.

People compiled the list of the most unique baby nicknames and broke it down by state. According to the article, Minnesotans call their unborn babies Fishstick.  Okay, first of all what do babies and fishsticks have to do with each other?  Second, I'm glad my parents never called me this because I'm terribly afraid that nickname would have stuck.  Third, if I have children in the future I will, in no way, shape or form, refer to them as Fishstick.  The sad thing is Fishtick isn't even the worst one.

I had a few nicknames growing up, most of which are far too inappropriate to actually discuss but one of them was Snuffleupagus.  Yes, just like the Sesame Street character. I think it came from me loving the snow and not being able to say his name.

We called my brother Hootie (and actually still do) because he used to make hooing noises when he was really little.  Our grandma used to call him Dumpling, too.  I have no idea where she picked that up.  My sister was, is and will always be Bucky.  It fit her well when she was little and now that she's an adult, let's just say it still fits well.

What nickname did you have as a kid?  It's okay to share, I promise I won't call you by it!
