Our animal rescue story this week comes from Elyssa and features this adorable dog named Lambeau!

We adopted Lambeau (formerly Jasper - you can tell we have a Packer fan in the house!) in February of 2013. We toured the shelter and fell in love with him right away. We knew he was the one because we couldn't stop talking about him after we left. A few days later, we made arrangements to make him ours. We couldn't wait to bring him home! Who could say no to this little fluff ball?!?!

The last six months we've had him has been quite the adventure. Within the first month, we moved, so he had to get adjusted to his new house. But as you can tell from the picture, it didn't take him long!

He's already learned so much in his short time here with us. He was potty trained not long after we got him home. He knows commands such as sit, lay down, and stay. He loves being outside and going on walks. He even loves visiting mom at work!

We realized just how much he loves being outside when we discovered he had gotten loose one afternoon and was out running wild until he was picked up and taken to doggie jail! The picture below is right after he was bailed out. Honestly, how could I be mad at him with this face?

As if doggie jail wasn't enough, in the last few months he got a sister! It's been like having actual children. They run around the house in circles chasing each other, they fight, one is always whining, and I don't know how many times I see him simply sit on top of her a day. But in those rare moments when they're getting along, they do actually love each other (and I was able to capture it!)

We're already planning a special celebration for his birthday this year. It's hard to believe that this special boy turns the big ONE in September! We can't wait to keep loving him and enjoying him for years to come! Here he is today lounging with dad watching tv!

Send us your rescue/adoption story! We will feature your furry friend on our Pet Scoop page as well!
