Early Saturday morning, Viking's running back Adrian Peterson was taken into custody for resisting arrest at a nightclub in Houston. Details are few as to what led to the arrest, but as of Saturday morning, he remained in jail on a $1000 bond. He has since been released. Peterson is from Palestine, Texas...about 2 and a half hours north of Houston.

Viking's officials said the team was aware of what happened, but would refrain from commenting until they had more information. NBC Sports reported that Adrian was there with his girlfriend and other family members and asked for a drink of water. Club officials told him the club was closed and was being walked to the door when a bouncer jumped on his back. A scuffle broke out and officers jumped in and completed the arrest.

Adrian is about six months into his rehabilitation after tearing ligaments in his left knee last December. Doctors and training staff aren't sure when he'll be ready to return to the field.
