Since I became an adult and got an email account I've been ending my emails with the word "best." I think it's a nice way to wrap up the email in a not so formal but professional way.

I thought the word "thanks" was way too common and kind of boring. According to Bloomberg.com both ways are tired and boring. The majority of people end their emails with one of these two phrases.

Other ways people end their email messages include; "regards," "yours," and "cheers." The site also says that you shouldn't use these words to end your emails either. Instead you shouldn't include anything at the end of your email.

I'll say it again ... you shouldn't include anything at the end of your email. They say that emails aren't thought of to be as formal as they once were. They are more like instant messages now. You shouldn't sign your name after a text message or write "best" after every text you get--So you shouldn't do it with an email.

If it's a work email, they say you can keep your email signature but rather than inserting the words mentioned above, just end the email with a period and get on with life.
