A Foundation Formed to Honor the Life of Tom Bearson [VIDEO]

SARTELL - A non-profit organization has been formed to honor the life of Tom Bearson.

Tom's dad, Greg Bearson, says the family is looking to give back some of the love and compassion that they have received.

Money raised by the Tom Bearson Foundation will go toward youth basketball programs, scholarships for basketball players at Sartell-St. Stephen, and more gym space. They're also looking at campus safety programs.

Tom Bearson had a love for basketball.

The foundation's first big event is a golf outing on August 22nd at Blackberry Ridge Course Course.

Bearson graduated from Sartell-St. Stephen high school last year. He was a freshman at North Dakota State University when he was killed last September. There have been no arrests made in the case.

Greg Bearson says it's still an active investigation and law enforcement is in contact with the family on a regular basis.
