The asteroid, known as 2003 SD220 (I think they need to give asteroids better names) will be closest to us on December 24th. Perhaps helping Rudolph to light the way for Santa's sleigh? 

It's a big one, an estimated length of 1.25 miles. Fortunately, there's no risk of it hitting earth anytime in the next 200 years. You can read more about the Christmas Eve Asteroid here.
