Our May Veteran of the Month is Chief Warrant Officer Dennis Thoma. Thank you Dennis for your years of dedication and service to our nation!

Dennis was nominated by his son, Isaac, because he's such an inspiration to him. Here's what Isaac had to say about his dad:

My dad is a Chief Warrant Officer 3. He has been working at Camp Ripley for 31 years and is currently the Automotive Supervisor in the Combined Maintenance Activity. He was deployed with 34th Division Headquarters to Bosra, Iraq in Feb. 2009 as 882A0 Mobility Officer. He returned Jan. 2010. During his deployment he was recognized for his efforts over seas with many awards. The most notable being the Bronze Star Medal.

Those are just a few of his many accomplishments in the military. While serving his country he has raised my 3 siblings and I while maintaining the farm he grew up on. Of course with a lot of help from my mom. He inspired me to join the National Guard back in 2009. He truly is my hero and I am so proud to call him my father.

Dennis, from all of us here at 98 Country, thank you serving our nation and helping to keep us free. Not only are you an inspiration to your son, but to all of us.

If you have a special veteran in your life be sure to nominate them to be our next Veteran of the Month!
