Each month we salute a local veteran but for June we decided to do something a little different.

We love being able to recognize a local veteran each month but this month we are going to salute all Minnesota veterans.  Working in the media field, we know that we wouldn't be able to do what we're doing without the veterans who have served and the military service men and women who continue to put their lives on the line to defend our freedom.  We are extremely grateful for all you do.

As citizens, we take for granted all the liberties that have been afforded to us.  We can voice our opinions, practice any religion, vote, go to school/work and along with many other freedoms.  We don't have to constantly live in fear that our country is going to be taken over by an enemy.  That is the gift our military gives us.  They give it unselfishly and they give it without ever getting enough thanks for their sacrifices.

All it takes is one look at the news each night and we remember that the United States is the best country to live in.

From all of us at 98 Country, thank you to all of the veterans that have served, to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of allowing the rest of us to keep our freedom and to all those currently serving. You have our support, respect and gratitude.

If there is a special veteran in your life that you'd like us to recognize make sure to nominate them for Veteran of the Month.
