This song was written by David Allan Coe and recorded by Tanya Tucker. It topped the country chart in March 1974 at number one.

"Why Me" was written and recorded by Kris Kristofferson.  Backing vocals provided by Rita Coolidge and Larry Gatlin.  The song reached number one on the country chart.

Willie Nelson - "Always On My Mind" -- 1982

 

 

 

Johnny Christopher, Mark James and Wayne Carson wrote, "Always on my Mind."  The song rapidly went to number one in the spring of 1982.

George Jones and Tammy Wynette - "Take Me" -- 1972

 

 

 

George Jones and Leon Payne wrote this song.  Originally released in 1966 and scored a number eight Top Ten Hit.  Best remembered as a duet by his third wife Tammy Wynette in 1972 when it hit number nine on the country chart.

IN THE NEWS IN 1972:

"What Part of No" is written by Wayne Perry and Gerlad S. Smith and recorded by Lorrie Morgan and reached number one on Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart the week of February 27, 1993 holding that position for three weeks.
