Once in a Blue Moon is written by Robert Byrne and Tom Brasfield.  The song was recorded by Earl Thomas Conley and released in January of 1986. It was Conley's eleventh number one on the country chart.

Nobody is written by Kye Fleming and Dennis Morgan and recorded by Sylvia.  The song was released in June 1982 and it topped the chart at number one. It was Sylvia's final number one country hit. 

News and events from 1982: Princess Grace dies of injuries when her car plunges off a mountain road.  Tylenol capsules laced with potassium cyanide kills 7 in Chicago on September 29th and the Weather Channel airs on cable television for the first time.

Conway Twitty - "Play Guitar Play" - 1977

 

 

This song was written and recorded by Conway Twitty.  The song was his 19th number one on the country hart. 

News and events from 1977: The Minnesota Vikings made it to Super Bowl IX but lost to the Oakland Raiders 32 to 14.  The Supreme Court rules that states are not required to spend Medicaid funds on elective abortions on June 20th and the first Apple Computer goes on sale.

Tanya Tucker - "Two Sparrows in a Hurricane" - 1992

 

 

Two Sparrows in a Hurricane is written by Mark Springer and recorded by Tanya Tucker.  The song topped out at number two on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart. 

News and events from 1992: the Democratic convention nominates Bill Clinton and Al Gore for President/Vice President on July 1st. Four police officers were indicted in the Rodney King beating on August 5th and DNA fingerprinting is invented.
