Tracy Lawrence – “Sticks and Stones”

This song is written by Elbert West and Roger Dillion and recorded by Tracy Lawrence.  It was released in November of 1991 as the title track from Lawrence’s debut album "Sticks and Stones."  In January 1992 it became his first number one hit on the Billboard Country Singles Chart.

You can take the house and everything in it; keep the diamond ring ‘cause that’s how I meant it.

Tanya Tucker – “Two Sparrows in a Hurricane”

Mark Springer wrote this song and recorded by Tanya Tucker.  “Two Sparrows in a Hurricane” tells the simple story of how a strong bond of love and respect can get a couple through any hardships that arise in a relationship.  This song is as romantic as they get.  This song scored a number two hit for Tanya.

She’s fifteen and he’s barely driving a car, she’s got his ring and he’s got the keys to her heart, it’s just a matter of time they’ll spread their wings and fly.

Pam Tillis – “Maybe it was Memphis”

This song is written by Michael Anderson and recorded by Pam Tillis on two separate occasions.  The second recording was released in November 1991 as the fourth single from her album "Put Yourself in my Place" this song peaked at number three in 1992 on Billboard Hot Singles Chart.

Looking at you through a misty moonlight caty did sing like a symphony.

Garth Brooks – “The River”

“The River” was co-written and recorded by Garth Brooks.  It was released in April of 1992 from his album "Ropin’ the Wind."  It became his ninth number one hit.

You know a dream is like a river ever changing as it flows.

John Anderson – “Seminole Wind”

“Seminole Wind” was written and recorded by John Anderson.  It was released in August 1992, from the album of the same name.  The song peaked at number two on Billboard Hot Country Chart.  This song takes on naturalist’s overtones, lamenting the destruction of the environment by humans for economic gain.  This is illustrated in the first verse.

Ever since the days of old, men would search for wealth untold, they’d dig for silver and gold and leave the empty holes.
