Alabama – “Southern Star” -- 1989

 

 

 

“Southern Star” is written by Rich Alves, Steve Dean and Rodger Murrah and recorded by the country music band Alabama.  The song hit number one on the country chart.  The band will appear at Grand Casino Hinckley on July 9th.

Roy Clark – “Come Live with Me” -- 1973

 

 

 

This single was written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant.  This was Roy Clark's only number one country hit.

Wynonna – “I Saw the Light” -- 1992

 

 

 

Andrew Gold and Lisa Angelle wrote “I Saw the Light.”  It was recorded by Wynonna Judd, the song top the Country Chart at number one.  Wynonna is coming to St. Cloud with her “Big Noise” band to perform at the Paramount Theatre, September 30, 2016.  It’s the Autumn Moon Fundraiser.  Tickets available at the Paramount Theatre Box Office.

George Strait – “Easy Come, Easy Go” -- 1993

 

 

 

Aaron Barker and Dean Dillion wrote this number one country hit for George Strait.  Released in August 1993 from the album of the same name.

  • Suspected terrorist drives a car bomb into the basement of the World Trade Center in New York
  • The hit movie Jurassic Park hits movie screens and the hit TV show Cheers calls it quits

Janie Fricke – “Tell me a Lie” -- 1983

 

 

 

Mickey Buckins and Barbara Wyrick wrote “Tell me a Lie.”  Recorded by Janie Fricke reaching number one on the country hot singles chart.
