John Conlee - "Domestic Life" -- 1987

 

 

"Domestic Life" is a song written by J.D. Martin and Garry Harrison and recorded by John Conlee.  The song was released in February  of 1987.  The song peaked at number four on Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart.

Alan Jackson - "Someday" -- 1991

 

 

"Someday" is written by Alan Jackson and Jim McBride.  It was released in August of 1991 from the album, 'Don't Rock the Jukebox.'  The song peaked at number one.

IN THE NEWS:  The Soviet Union breaks up after President Gorbachev's resignation.  And Paul Reubens (Pee Wee Herman) is arrested in Florida movie theater for indecent exposure.

Sonny James - "When the Snow is on the Roses" -- 1972

 

 

Sonny James -- the 'Southern Gentleman' -- recorded "When the Snow is on the Roses." Released in July 1972, it became James' 22nd number one on Billboard Magazine Hot 100 in Mid September.

IN THE NEWS: President Nixon makes an unprecedented eight-day visit to communist China. And the U.S. Supreme Court rules the death penalty is unconstitutional on June 29th.

Merle Haggard - "Swinging Doors" -- 1966

 

 

The Hagg wrote and recorded "Swinging Doors."  Released in 1966 and reached number five on the country chart.  Don't miss Merle Haggard at the MN State Fair on Labor Day September 7th at the Grandstand with Kris Kristofferson.

Glen Campbell - "True Grit" -- 1969

 

 

This song was released in July 1969 from the album of the same name.  Also the title song from the movie starring John Wayne and Glen Campbell.  The song peaked at number nine on Billboard's Hot Country Chart.
