I love Minnesota and being outside, but some jobs just suck in the winter--especially when it's bitter cold. Summer just made these jobs instantly better!

1. Valet parking--I hate parking my own car in the winter. I couldn't imagine having to park other people's cars in the winter. It's definitely a thankless job.

2. Cart collector--In the summer, this job isn't bad. In the winter, it's a whole new ball game. I'm pretty sure that things get even more complicated when you're trying to push little tiny wheels through inches of snow.

3. Police diver--This is probably a stressful job the way it is. The cold weather doesn't help anyone here!

4. Power line worker--Things happen, the power goes out and someone has to fix it. In the summer it's not so bad. In the winter time, your job just got 100 times more unbearable.

5. Bus driver--You'd think this one wouldn't be that bad. However, you're constantly opening the bus doors and letting in the cold air. When it's negative degrees outside you might catch a cold.

6. Garbage collector--A garbage hauler is up before the sun comes up. In the summertime it's probably a nice escape from the heat. In the winter, it's awful. This is definitely a thankless job. I don't even like moving my garbage to the curb when it's cold.

7. Mail carrier--You have to put up with dogs chasing after you AND old man winter. This job definitely becomes a lot more difficult when it's -15 below and you're just trying to get your route done.

8. Construction worker--This is the definition of Minnesota tough. If you're a construction worker in Minnesota, you can handle it all. Just because you're tough, doesn't mean you like it!

9. Window installer--It's extremely difficult to put windows in. If you add the bitter cold to the mix, you're just asking for problems. I can't even think when it's freezing...let alone perform actual tasks. This job is way better in the summer.

10. Firefighter--There's just something about spraying water when it's -40 below that seems awful. I think this is definitely a better summer gig.

The good news is it's pretty much summer. The bad news is that winter is just around the corner!
