RICHMOND - Twenty area bands are getting ready to take the stage at the El Rancho Manana Campground this weekend for the Minnesota Homegrown Kickoff.

The Kickoff is a three-day outdoor music and camping festival with bands playing bluegrass, old-time stringband and acoustic music.

The Kickoff will be held in conjunction with the Great Minnesota Uke Gathering, a ukulele weekend celebration for players to get together and take part in workshops, jams and sing-alongs.

Tentative main stage show times for The Kickoff are 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday. You're encouraged to bring a lawn chair. No alcohol will be allowed in the concert area.
