Did you hear there's snow in the forecast? Oh, crap--today?! It's that time of year again when your procrastination has finally caught up with you. If you're unprepared for winter, this is probably your life today. P.S. the man in that picture was totally prepared for the snow. Life will not be that easy for you today.

1. An unprepared Minnesotan will disagree with the fact that snow is in the forecast. "No, I heard they're saying it'll miss us just like last time." No. you're so very wrong.

2. But, reality starts to set in when you see snow in the forecast on every TV station.  A few after school activities start to get canceled and you know it's getting real, really fast.

3. You're at work and there's nothing you can do about it right now. But wait, did you remember to put an ice scraper in your car? You might have one in the trunk. It's going to be madness when it's time to leave. Good thing you have a credit card.

4. The drive home will most definitely suck. Everyone is in a panic to get home and pretty much forgot what driving in the snow is like. Drive slow, it's not a race. Especially you--There's no way you cleared your entire window with your credit card turned ice scraper.

5. You're finally home but all of your lawn furniture is still outside. You'll scramble around the yard super fast to collect it all and try to figure out a place to put it in the garage.

6. None of your snow gear is out yet. You completely terrorized through all of the coat closets looking for your snow pants, hats, boots, gloves, scarves and everything else.

7. It's time to dust off the snow plow and make sure it works. Oh dear God, please work! Does it have gas in it? Of course it doesn't. You're not about to get back on the roads again. Good thing you've got that shovel.

8. You realize how awful shoveling really is. You've been at it for like an hour and you're not even halfway done. In fact, the spots you shoveled need to be shoveled again because it's snowing harder now. Oh great, the shovel literally just broke. The shovel looks like how your back feels. It's time to get back in the car and get gas for the snow blower.

9. It looks like everyone else decided to get gas at the same time. There's a long line. Maybe you'll just go inside of the store and buy a super shovel instead.

10. Parking the car is a little challenging. You can't see any of the parking spot lines! It's like Harry Potter's invisibility cloak has hidden everything.

11. The shovels are never just in the front of the store. You will go searching through all of  the isles only to discover there are none left. It's back to the gas station for you.

12. When you finally get home it's like 9 p.m. and you're just starting to clear out your driveway...Meanwhile all of your neighbors are snug inside of their homes watching the latest episode of The Walking Dead.

Yes, this is a story I know all too well. Have fun out there!
