When I grew up Down South, It didn't take me long to fall in love with the simplest of food choices...Krystal (a better version of White Castle), Raisin' Canes (chicken fingers), and especially Chick-fil-A!

Now as you read this, hopefully you can suspend your political beliefs for a moment...because we're talking about feeding our stomachs and nothing more right now. Founded in 1946 in Hapeville, Georgia, Chick-fil-A currently has 7 stores in Minnesota since expanding to the state in late 2013:

  • Maple Grove (our closest, next to TGI Fridays & Benihana)
  • Anoka (south of Hwy 10)
  • University of Minnesota (Coffman Student Union)
  • Bloomington (along I-494)
  • MSP (Terminal 1)
  • Apple Valley (East of Buck Hill)
  • Mankato (MSU Centenial Student Union)

So what's the case for an 8th store in Saint Cloud or along I-94 in Central Minnesota? Well, here are my top 10 reasons for bringing the famous chicken chain to our neck of the woods:

  1. It's the best fast-food chicken sandwich there is. Yep, it's the plain and simple truth!
  2. Hand-spun milkshakes. THE best various creative flavors like cookies & cream and peach
  3. Waffle fries. Something about holes in our potatoes is just so addictive.
  4. The lemonade. Made fresh and you can tell :)
  5. The dipping sauces. More variety of sauces than McDonald's, BK, and Wendy's together
  6. The variety of choices. Not only grilled or fried, but wraps, salads, strips, and nuggets.
  7. Lunch is only an hour. And the drive to Maple Grove is 45 minutes!
  8. Hooray for picky eaters. Because everyone likes chicken :)
  9. Breakfast options. I know- even Taco Bell is doing it but where else can you get a chicken biscuit for wake-up food?
  10. Closed on Sundays. Some would not be positive about this- but I salute a company who gives time off for God & family.

Well I hope the brass in Atlanta take notice of this article as well as the emptying spaces at Crossroads Mall! We may like steak and potatoes in the Upper Midwest, but we like our chicken here too, right Gold N' Plump?
